During a solo backpacking trip through Gujarat, India, I traveled nearly 2000 km across diverse landscapes, from arid deserts to coastal regions, while visiting numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites. My journey took me through small towns and villages, where I immersed myself in the region’s unique flora, fauna, and architectural heritage. I was particularly drawn to the intricate designs of ancient temples, forts, and stepwells, as well as the diverse ecosystems that ranged from dry, rugged terrain to the lush coastal areas. This trip allowed me to explore the rich cultural and natural history of Gujarat, deepening my understanding of how the region’s architecture and environment are intertwined.
